They primarily operate two businesses: a “research support business” that supports cutting-edge research in pharmaceutical companies and academia, and a “PAGEs business (platform business)” that provides unique breed improvement and problem-solving services to a wide range of industries, including agriculture, fisheries, and livestock farming.

Job Description

■ Job Description
You will be responsible for research and development of human and animal cells utilizing genome editing technology.
* Construction of culture, modification, and evaluation systems for human/animal cells
* Design of genome-edited cultured cells and experimental planning
* Planning and promotion of research themes based on customer needs
* Technical consideration and proposal for commercialization of research results
* Leading and training junior researchers (depending on experience)
This is not simply a position to conduct experiments; you will be responsible for the entire process from hypothesis formulation to implementation.

① Research Proposal During Interview
During the interview, you will propose a research concept you would like to work on after joining the company.
There is a possibility that this theme will develop into an actual business project.
② Hybrid Environment of Research and Business
You will design everything from research targets, market size, and business models, including product development utilizing livestock animals.
You will gain experience in “creating a business while being a researcher.”
③ Overseas Business Expansion Phase
Overseas expansion is underway in collaboration with major trading companies. You will be involved in research themes with a global market in mind.

This recruitment is to strengthen our research system in the human and animal cell field, in anticipation of the expansion of our overseas business and further growth in the field of precision breeding.

Requirements

• Research experience in the life sciences field (equivalent to a Master’s degree or higher)
• Practical experience in human or animal cell culture
• Required Japanese language proficiency: Conversational level (N3 level) (Interviews will primarily be conducted in Japanese, but a mix of English and Japanese is acceptable if necessary)

Preferred Requirements

• Research experience with human antibody-producing cells
• Knowledge and experience with genome editing
• PhD
• Veterinary license
• English proficiency

Terms and Conditions

• Annual Salary: 4 – 6 million JPY

• Bonus: None

• Salary Increase: Once a year

• Probation Period: 6 months

• Location: Tokushima

• Social Insurance: Fully covered

• Working Hours: Super flexible work arrangement (no core time)

• Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays

• Average Overtime: 20 hours

• Smoking Cessation Measures: Non-smoking indoors

Selection Process

• Selection Flow: Interview 3 (Final interview is in person. Travel expenses will be provided.)

• Required Documents: They require a resume and a curriculum vitae (CV) for the initial screening.

• Interview Language: Basically, Japanese (English is also acceptable if you cannot explain in Japanese).
