【Job details】

They are seeking an experienced Sales and Business Development professional to drive the expansion of their pharmaceutical intermediate (API intermediate) business in Japan. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting pharmaceutical intermediates and Key Starting Materials (KSMs), building strategic customer relationships, and driving business growth with Japanese pharmaceutical manufacturers, API manufacturers, and trading companies.

<Key Responsibilities>

・Identify and develop new business opportunities for pharmaceutical intermediates and Key Starting Materials (KSMs) in the Japanese market.
・Identify and approach API manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, contract manufacturing organizations (CDMOs/CMOs), and trading companies to build long-term, trusting relationships.
・Promote the company’s pharmaceutical intermediate portfolio and generate new customer inquiries.
・Manage quotations, pricing, commercial negotiations, and contract finalization.
・Coordinate with the Indian headquarters on customer qualification, sample provision, technical documentation exchange, and commercial activities.
・Collaborate closely with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Technical, and Supply Chain teams to support customer needs and requirements.
・Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to identify new products for commercialization.
・Represent the company at pharmaceutical exhibitions, conferences, and customer meetings in Japan.
・Prepare sales forecasts, market intelligence reports, and business development progress updates.
・Achieve established sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle.

【Requirements】

・Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
・Experience: 8–12 years of experience in sales and business development for APIs, pharmaceutical intermediates, or Key Starting Materials (KSMs).
・Experience in the import and sales of overseas APIs.
・Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP, DMFs, regulatory documentation (filings), and the pharmaceutical supply chain.
・Strong network and established relationships within the Japanese pharmaceutical industry, including API manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, trading firms, and CDMOs.
・Proven track record of developing new business and managing/maintaining key accounts.
・Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
・Language Skills: Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.

【Conditions and Benefits】

Work Location: Osaka
Salary: 10–15 million JPY
Probationary Period: 6 months
Benefits: Commuting allowance (up to 50,000 JPY/month)

Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Average Overtime: 10 hours/month
Overtime Pay: Paid separately based on hours worked
