Global Recruitment

Company Overview

The company aims to bring quantum computing into practical, real-world use.

By realizing quantum computing, they seek to balance energy efficiency with high computational power, overcome the limits of information processing facing humanity, and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.

They are a pioneering leader in the global quantum computing market, driven by proprietary optical quantum technology that enables room-temperature operation and excellent scalability. A diverse team of highly skilled professionals from various backgrounds and fields collaborates daily, transcending borders and disciplinary boundaries.

They welcome ambitious individuals who want to create world-changing “next-generation technology” firsthand and make a genuine impact on the global market.

The company is also well-capitalized, having raised a total of 7 billion yen in funding.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves the verification and physical implementation of mechanical components and elements that make up the optical system of a photonic quantum computer currently under development.
To achieve development with scalability in mind, a key immediate challenge at the component level is making mechanical parts smaller, lighter, and more robust. Realizing a photonic quantum computer within limited overall dimensions requires not only the layout design of optical elements and optical interconnects but also performance evaluation at the module level. Furthermore, as established methods for translating large-scale optical systems into physical hardware do not yet exist, there is a need for technical expertise in integrating modules into the final system.

*Depending on your experience and skills, you will be assigned to focus on one of the following roles:

・Evaluation of photonic quantum computer modules

>Procurement and R&D of measurement methods for components such as lenses, mirrors, polarizers (and their coatings), and waveplates
>Optical performance evaluation of modules under conditions simulating external disturbances like heat, vibration, and airflow (involves building custom evaluation setups)
>Failure analysis, noise analysis, and consideration of improvement proposals

・Prototyping and system assembly
>Integration of evaluated components into prototype housings, precision assembly, and operational testing

Requirements

・Master’s degree or higher (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Physics, Optics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
・Experience in the R&D of precision inspection systems based on optical techniques such as interferometry, confocal microscopy, spectroscopy, light scattering, optical levers, machine vision, and resolution assessment
・Experience independently handling the end-to-end process of inspection method design, implementation, and evaluation (regardless of system or module scale)
・Practical experience (ideally 5+ years) in mechanical design (including jigs/fixtures) within the manufacturing or R&D sectors using 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks)
・Experience handling and aligning optical components, optical fibers, etc.

・Japanese proficiency at a conversational level (JLPT N3 or higher)

・English proficiency at a business level

Preferred Requirements

・Planning and implementation of experimental setups to measure minute displacements and tilts (at the micron or nano scale) with high precision and repeatability
・Experience operating and evaluating measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
・Practical or research experience in measurement, data acquisition, and numerical analysis using languages such as Python, MATLAB, Scilab, R, C/C++, or C#

Terms and Conditions
