Global Recruitment

Company Overview

The company aims to bring quantum computing into practical, real-world use.

By realizing quantum computing, they seek to balance energy efficiency with high computational power, overcome the limits of information processing facing humanity, and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.

They are a pioneering leader in the global quantum computing market, driven by proprietary optical quantum technology that enables room-temperature operation and excellent scalability. A diverse team of highly skilled professionals from various backgrounds and fields collaborates daily, transcending borders and disciplinary boundaries.

They welcome ambitious individuals who want to create world-changing “next-generation technology” firsthand and make a genuine impact on the global market.

The company is also well-capitalized, having raised a total of 7 billion yen in funding.

Key Responsibilities

Photonic quantum computers utilize complex optical systems in which numerous custom-made optical components (mirrors, lenses, beam splitters, etc.) are arranged within a confined space. Optimizing the layout of these components and designing the actual hardware presents extreme challenges when relying on conventional methods.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing optical systems and evaluating performance metrics for a photonic quantum computer currently under development. This is a highly challenging position that goes beyond merely applying existing optical design techniques; it entails pioneering and implementing *new* optical design methodologies.
We therefore welcome candidates who possess extensive knowledge and analytical skills regarding optics and associated mechanical systems.

*Depending on your experience and skills, your primary responsibilities will include the following:*

・Development of software environments for photonic quantum computers
>Developing optical system software tailored for photonic quantum computers—going beyond the scope of standard optical software (such as Zemax, Code V, or LightTools)—and using it to perform detailed optical system design.

・Performance simulation for photonic quantum computers
>Simulating performance metrics for the actual hardware in collaboration with the architecture team.
>Collaborating with the mechanical design team on mechanism design.

・Analysis of evaluation results from the actual photonic quantum computer hardware
>Analyzing hardware performance metrics, identifying issues, and evaluating noise factors and potential improvements.

Requirements

・Master’s degree or higher (Master’s or Ph.D.) in physics, optics, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related field
・Practical or research experience in numerical analysis using languages/tools such as Python, MATLAB, Scilab, R, C/C++, or C#
・Broad and deep understanding of and knowledge regarding optics

・Japanese proficiency at a conversational level (JLPT N3 or higher)

・English proficiency at a business level

Preferred Requirements

・Experience in mechanical tolerance analysis and optical sensitivity analysis regarding minute changes, such as micron- or nano-scale displacements and tilts
・Experience in tolerance analysis and performance simulation using the Monte Carlo method with optical software such as ZEMAX or CODE V
・Experience in the measurement and evaluation of lens modules
・Fundamental knowledge of free-space optical systems, such as Gaussian beams (experience gained during university studies is also highly welcome)
